How’d I get here?

My passion for yoga has spanned over a decade. I have always been someone who moved my body but after a collegiate season ending injury I was limited in my range of motion. I started to stretch my body, breathe and create a ritual for myself based off of what felt good to me (a somewhat foreign concept in the competitive sports world). Over time I started to realize that most of the movement I was doing was similar to what I saw yoga to be. I started taking classes and fell in love with yoga as an ongoing conversation with self. As someone who values seeking and discovery, I saw it as an instant opportunity to spend my time fostering this relationship.

I went on to get my 200hr in 2012 through Laurel Hodory Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga-a training deeply rooted in eastern philosophy. Additional certifications and trainings followed as I used my internal passions to direct where and when I sought out further education. I received my level 1 Reiki as well as my meditation teacher certification from Jasmine Grace. I have worked with a spiritual coach consistently for the past five years which I believe to be the most precious and important education I could give myself. I wanted to work on finding and accessing the divine more frequently and staying there more often. I wanted to be the teacher that didn’t speak words but spoke resonance by connecting first with myself.

I have been a yoga instructor for the past 8 years teaching at multiple studios and across multiple styles. Met some beautiful owners and just as beautiful students. Teaching at: Namaste in Love, The Yoga Factory, GoYoga, Melt Hot Yoga & Rewild Yoga. I have a strong influence of Baptiste power, mediation modalities and spiritual slow flow. I like to stretch bodies in its abilities without beating it up. I am much more interested in what mine and my student’s bodies can do –versus what they can’t do. I work with the energy in the room creating a harmonious experience that leaves the student clear and grounded. I create space for the mind, body and soul in all of my styles and flows.

In 2020 during the COVID shift I found myself being pulled away from traditional studio teaching and called to create. I knew Yoga to be merely an hour physical practice. It can be that. But there is so much more for those who are ready. So I spent time creating an experience that pulls spiritual work, meditation and yoga in ONE. I want students to leave fueling and connecting to their hearts. I want those students to ask the deeper questions. Who value their self enough to invest and explore it. From there birth Sacred Embodiment Yoga and I am honored to do this work.
